Heiner Sass, Managing Director

Heiner K. Sass is a qualified freight forwarder. After finishing his apprenticeship with Kuehne & Nagel in Hanover he emigrated to South Africa where he held various positions with Schenkers in Joahnnesburg as Import Manager, Sales Manager and Airfreight Manager. 

In 1980 he returned to Germany to take care of charter sales for Karpeles Schenker and in 1982 he was promoted to Sales Manager Airfreight at the Schenker Headquarters.

In 1985 Heiner K. Sass joined Martinair as Cargo Sales Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and was later promoted to the position of Cargo Sales Director Central Europe.

In 2002 he accepted the new challenge to develop the GSA business in Germany for the ECS Group as Managing Director of Globe Air Cargo GmbH.

In addition to his position as Managing Director of Globe Air Cargo in Germany, Heiner Sass is also Managing Director of the Globe Air Cargo offices in Poland and Bulgaria.

Heiner K. Sass was also for many years an elected member of the board of the Aircargo Club Deutschland (ACD)

From 1st January 2013 Heiner Sass started to hand over his responsibilties as Managing Director to his successor Dirk Grüter.
